Arun Verma
Mr. Verma was educated during his formative years at Mayo College, Ajmer (www.mayocollege.com). He received his School Certificate award from the University of Cambridge (UK).

Upon graduation, Mr. Verma was selected to join the prestigious National Defense Academy (www.nda.nic.in), where he was enrolled in a 3 year intensive study in academics and military training,. Per curriculum, he received another year of training at the renowned Indian Military Academy, and thereafter was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1965 (indianarmy.nic.in). This qualified him for a Bachelor's of Science Degree. Later, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

During his 12 years as a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, Mr. Verma commanded units in active formations on the borders in Nagaland, Assam and Kashmir. In 1971, his unit was engaged in active battle as part of the Strike Corps' successful assault into West Pakistan.

In 1977, Mr. Verma, having already attained the rank of Major, elected to retire prematurely from the Indian Army so that he could emigrate to the United States and apply the lessons he learned in the military (including during battle) to the growing computer technology industry.

Upon arriving in the U.S., Mr. Verma enrolled at New York University, where he acquired more knowledge in higher technology. Thereafter, for many years, he was responsible for analyzing, designing and implementing several mainframe applications in consulting assignments at a number of Fortune 500 companies.

In 1983, with ample hands-on experience in Information Technology and having been professionally trained in "Managing Resources", Mr. Verma founded DATA Inc., where he has served as its President, and has been devoted to its growth, ever since.

Mr. Verma's decades of experience in planning and implementing successful practices in both the military and corporate worlds have propelled DATA Inc. to the forefront of the computer technology industry.

In his spare time, Mr. Verma has successfully participated in swimming, basketball and hockey competitions, for which he has received numerous trophies over the years.

Conrad Leao
As VP of Operations at DATA Inc., Conrad Leao leads teams that acquire and support new clients, attract and manage employees as well as the supporting business functions.

He has successfully led the development of systems and practices within the organization that helped differentiate the organization as a leader in information technology.

Sarvotam Handa
Vice President - UK (EMEA)

Sarvotam Handa
Sarvotam Handa was a naval aviator in the Indian navy, flying jets from aircraft carriers and ashore. He has held various staff, training, diplomatic and operational appointments during his service career in various parts of the world both, in peace and battle conditions, including management of forces in association with the United Nations in Somalia (UNOSOM) and Rwanda (UNAMIR). He also commanded ships, air squadrons and an air station during his tenure.

On pre-mature retirement from the navy, he chose to diversify into the IT field. Concurrently, he also undertook Leadership and Management programs on behalf of LMI Inc Texas for various companies of corporate India. In time, aided by his management experience developed over the years, he helped start up a modest sized Medical Transcription centre and a 96 seat 'blended' call centre in India.

He joined the DATA Inc group in Aug 2001 and was closely associated in the setting up of our Software Development facility in New Delhi. Commodore Handa was subsequently transferred to the UK in Feb 02 to run DATA Inc UK Ltd at Reading where he continues to promote our interests in Europe and the UK.

Y R Maindiratta
Brig Maindiratta, having retired, after an active and eventful career with the Indian Army spanning over 36 years, is currently heading the APAC region operations of DATA Inc through its global group company named Software Data (India) Limited, in India.

Brigadier has been an active Founding Director of Datamation Foundation, a non-profit, apolitical, non-partisan charitable trust. The Foundation has been actively engaged in advocating, designing and implementing innovative Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled initiatives to help meet Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) defined by the United Nations. As a key driver of the organization, Brigadier has the proud privilege of representing the organization at various world fora like Commonwealth Action Program for the Digital Divide in London; Global Knowledge Partnership events at Geneva, Costa Rica, and Tunisia; Diversity Leadership Summit in Washington DC; and many others with in India.

Brig Maindiratta believes in, participative management, thought-leadership, individual initiative, creative solutions, honesty of purpose and relationships, and operating with a sense of involvement and commitment. With these core values and ethos, he is invariably driving himself and the company towards the mutually interlinked journey towards excellence.
